Hannah Banana

Hannah will celebrate her 8th birthday tomorrow, August 18th. It was pretty much a birthday weekend all around for her. On Saturday evening Grandma Cindy and I took her shopping. It was a lot of fun. She picked out a brand new Hannah Montana bedroom set for her room. Very, very cool! I'm also pretty certain that she talked Grandma Cindy into buying her everything "Hannah Montana" that Walmart has to offer! (Not really). Next it was on to the mall to visit Build-A-Bear Workshop. Every time we are at the mall she begs to go here, so I figured what better time than a birthday. She was so excited to pick her little bear (actually it's a pink leopard), stuff it, give it a sound, bathe it, and, of course, accessorize. She got to pick two outfits, one of which was a very cool Hannah Montana (go figure) get-up, and also some jammies. The bear/leopard got its very own bed and cell phone and even a tiny little pair of Hello Kitty underpants. Oh brother! We then visited a cute new store called Justice for Girls and Grandma helped her pick a new outfit for school. After that it was off to TGIFridays for some grub. YUMMY!!!

Sunday afternoon we headed off to the Fitzhughs' for a quiet little BBQ and swimming. It was the perfect way to spend the day and I'm pretty sure that Hannah had a blast. Of course, since tomorrow is her actual real B-day Hannah will be served chocolate chip teddy bear pancakes in bed. Oh man, it's a good thing birthday's only come once a year!!!

(FYI: All of this spoiling was done in lieu of an actual birthday party!!!)

Sounds like she had a blast. What a cool thing to do, it's cool they had Hannah Montana clothes for her Leopard. I can't believe hannah is 8 already.

Just a girl and her thoughts said...

Melanie,

Aren't birthdays the greatest/busiest. My name is Alexis and I'm currently working on a social media project you may have some interest in. My group is coordinating a community-outreach effort for the REV Spokesperson Contest. After looking at your site, I feel that your audience would be interested in knowing about us and our little contest! The idea is simple: we’re looking for healthy, active moms who can tell their story, give advice and empower moms who aspire to “do it all” without neglecting themselves.

REV. product features 3 varieties of Epsom Salt (for Moms, for Athletes, and for Families), but rev-life.com is an online community centered around health, going green, and finding the energy to get it all done! For our members, it offers blogging, social networking, and tools, such as calendars and photo-sharing.

We'd love to do a link-exchange, but right now we're in the process of setting up our blog-roll.

In addition to $1,000.00 cash and a 6-month supply of REV., there are quite a few perks and although only 5 moms throughout the U.S. will receive the Spokesperson honor, everyone who enters will be contributing to an online community that has been created to support, inspire and equip them with resources.

Can you reply and let me know if that sparks your interest and if you would be willing to post information or otherwise help us spread the message? We can offer 50, 100, 150 word write-ups if you are willing to tell your community about us.

Check out this link for more information http://www.rev-life.com/?BCRGUID=REV5251

Please let me know if you have any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Alexis
